The International Students Office (ISO) is responsible for the Admission Affairs and Visa Affairs of international students of USST.

The responsibilities of the International Student OfficeUSST-ISO encompass a wide range of crucial functions aimed at supporting and enhancing the experiences of international students within the university framework.

 

1. The office will formulate comprehensive management policies and establish effective coordination mechanisms specifically designed to facilitate the integration and academic success of international students.


2. It will act as a vital liaison, engaging with relevant national and local governmental departments to address issues and concerns pertinent to the international student community, ensuring effective communication and policy alignment.


3. The office will proficiently manage the complexities associated with visa applications and off-campus internship permits, ensuring that international students comply with immigration regulations while gaining valuable practical experience.


4. It will oversee the complete enrollment process for international students, catering to various categories, including self-funded students, those on Chinese government scholarships, Shanghai government scholarshipsboth full-ride and partial, and participants in joint programs, thus ensuring a smooth transition into the academic environment.


5. The office is responsible for the integration and management of data related to international students. This includes the administration of scholarships, which entails conducting annual evaluations to assess recipients’ progress and continued eligibility.


6. It will also complete all necessary electronic registration tasks for maintaining international student records and academic degrees, providing essential services such as issuing bachelor's and master's certificates and supplying English transcripts for academic and professional use.


7. The office will conduct informative presentations and training sessions focused on international student regulations, strategic development planning, and thorough policy research to keep both staff and students well-informed and compliant.


8. Approval for university-level international freshman enrollment includes multiple programs, along with the consolidation of data within the department.


9. The office will administer and issue important DQ and JW202 electronic documents related to the enrollment and immigration status of international students, ensuring all necessary visa E-document is accurately processed and conveyed.
