From November 15to 16, 2014, International Students Office(ISO) held two days’ TraditionalChinese Culture Comprehending Program in Nanjing and Zhouzhuang for USSTinternational students . Guided by Mr. Zhang and Mr.Liu from ISO, more than 60international students visited the Chinese ancient capital Nanjing and theWatertown ranking first in Jiangnan Zhouzhuang.
As the capital ofsix ancient dynasties, Nanjing reflects and inherits the deep and sincereculture and retains many places of historical interest. After reaching Nanjing,international students visited many places of historical interest vigorouslysuch as the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum, Nanjing Presidential Palace, Jiangnan famousgarden- Xu Garden, the site of King Tianwang’s Residence of the TaipingHeavenly Kingdom, Liangjiang Governor’s Mansion of Qing dynasty, ChineseUnicorn Gate, Nanjing National Government Auditorium, Zichao Mansion. After theexplanation of tour guide , the international students felt so happy that theytook pictures there. In the evening, there were many tourists in the side ofQinhuai River and Nanjing Confucian Temple. Then the international studentsenjoyed local delicacies in Nanjing.
On November 16,the international students visited Yuejiang Tower and from the tower ,theycould have access to Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge and beautiful scenery on bothsides of Yangtze river.
The two-day tripin Nanjing and Zhouzhuang greatly helped the international students to knowmore about the Chinese historical culture and enriched their understanding ofChina and their campus lives. Moreover, the trip enhanced friendships amonginternational students. ISO will hold more such significant activities to builda platform for international students to integrate themselves into the Chinesculture.
