At 8:40 a.m. on November 30, 2014, the 2ndSICA Model United Nations of International USST Students Culture Festival 2014was grandly open in the Image-Text Information Center of the School AcademiaHistorica.
The 2nd SICA Model United Nations 2014 can bedivided into two parts, opening ceremony and the official meeting of Englishand Chinese meeting venues.
Present at the opening ceremony were:teachers of USST International Student Office, Zhang Along, President of SICA,Wu Wenjing and Tian Yun, Vice Presidents of the Association, five DepartmentDirectors of the Association, Zhou Liping, representative of Graduate StudentUnionofthe co-organizer School of Foreign Languages, representatives of internationalstudents and more than 50 representatives participating in the Model UnitedNations of our university.
In the opening ceremony, the host declaredthe beginning of the ceremony, then teacher of International Student Officedelivered an opening speech, afterwards, everyone watched the "Propagandafilm of 2nd SICA Model United Nations 2014". In the film, ProfessorJeniffer Tarlin, from Exchange Center for American culture, internationalstudent representatives and representatives present at the meeting successivelyexpressed their wishes to the USST International Students Culture Festival2014, the 2nd SICA Model United Nations 2014 and SICA.
Afterwards,ZhangAlong, President of SICA, Zhou Liping, representative of Graduate Student Unionof School of Foreign Languages and Liu Hang, representative of players presentat the meeting also respectively made a statement. They introduced the detailedprocess of the meeting, expressed the sincere gratitude to all player representatives,supporters of Model United Nations activity andorganization work of SICA, and also expected that all members present couldfurther personally experience the atmosphere of Model United Nations, positivelythink, understand current world affairs, pay attention to the interests of thewhole world, jointly discuss the international situation, and further cultivatedpolitician's view, cohesion, team spirit and random strain capacity of thestudents.
Afterthe opening ceremony, distinguished guests and representatives present at the meetingheaded to the School Academia Historica for taking photosas a memento.
During the officialmeeting, there were Chineseand English meeting venues. Under the support of meeting presidium, delegationrepresenting 15 council members of the meeting including Germany, Iraq,Greece, China, Britain, Russia, Libya, Japan, Syria, France, Australia, theUnited States, Egypt, Iran, and Turkey carried out discussion around the topicof "Whether to conduct military sanction to ISIS". All representatives spoke activelyand freely, and the whole meeting venue was filled with warm atmosphere andstrong academic atmosphere.
Aftertwo hours' intense discussion, the first round of official meeting ended, representatives left the meeting venue withboundless feeling, and the second round of officialmeeting in the afternoon was underway.
