1. Q: I want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship,what should I do ?

A:

Please note that the Chinese Government Scholarship mainly consists of two types: CSC-A and CSC-B. Kindly decide which category you are applying for first.

 

For the CSC-A (Bilateral) scholarship, please contact the dispatching authorities(please refer to question NO.4) directly.

 

For the CSC-B scholarship (University independent enrollment for Master’s and Doctorate programs) application, please contact USST directly.


2. Q: I want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship(CSC-A). 

What are the procedures? Where should I send the application materials?

A:

*Applicants shall apply to the dispatching authorities, such as the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country. 

*Eligible applicants shall log in the application system, fill out the application online as instructed.

3. Q: Where do I find the online application system? What is the “ USST Agency No.”?

A:

*The website for the CSC official application portal is http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua/ http://www.campuschina.org/

*FOR CSC-A, Please consult the dispatching authority, such as the Chinese Embassy in the applicant’s country. 

*For CSC-B, We kindly request that you carefully follow the outlined procedures by progressing through steps one to three in sequential order:

4. Q: What is “dispatching authority”?

A:

*Dispatching authority is responsible for the enrollment and admission of the scholarship students. 

*A dispatching authority could be one of the following organizations or institutions: 

The relevant entities include the education department, the Chinese Embassy or Consulate located in the applicant’s home country, a foreign Embassy situated within China, a higher education institution in China, or a research institute. For further information and specific inquiries, please reach out to designated project officer.


5. Q: Can I apply directly to China Scholarship Council (CSC)?

A:

No. 

*CSC doesn’t accept individual applications from applicants. 

*Please do NOT mail the application materials to CSC. Please apply to the dispatching authority, such as the Chinese Embassy or Consulate(CSC-A), or Contact us directly (CSC-B). 

*USST is one of the higher education institutions entitled to admit students under Chinese Government Scholarship Program. 

*For Undergraduate program applicants, we would highly recommend that students try to apply to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the first place(CSC-A).


6. Q: Can I send the application materials via email to CSC?

A:

No. 

Application materials via email are not valid for scholarship application. 

Please log in the application system, fill out and uploaded the required documentation as instructed. 


7. Q: When is the deadline for application?

A:

*FOR CSC-A:

Please consult the dispatching authority for the detailed deadline. 

*FOR CSC-B:

Deadline: 10th March 2025


8. Q: I’m under 18 years old. Am I eligible to apply?

A:

Yes. 

An applicant under 18 years old needs a guardian during his/her stay in China until he/she turns 18. 


9. Q: Can I apply without obtaining a Pre-admission Letter?

A:

Candidates who want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship through Dispatching Authorities(CSC-A) are welcome to contact us for the USST Pre-admission Letter to complete their application procedures. 

Candidates who want to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship through CSC-B (USST Independent Enrollment Master&Doctorate Program) are welcome to contact us and send us the required documentation package first for initial censorship.

10. Q: Can I apply without the HSK Chinese Proficiency proof?

A:

If the applicants have successfully completed their studies at a Chinese university and obtained the degree taught in Chinese medium, there is no need to submit an HSK certification. 


11. Q: Where should I take the physical examination? 

A:

If the applicant is outside of Chinese Mainland and does not have a valid Residence Permit, they must submit their Physical Examination Form.

Physical examination should be conducted in authorized hospitals. Please consult the dispatching authority for the details.

12. Q: How many candidates are eligible for the CSC-B scholarship at USST?

A: 

The number varies each year, there are around 5 independent enrollment seats for each year, Besides the independent enrollment, you can also apply to our school through the Chinese embassy(Dispatching Authorities, CSC-A), the number is not limited.


13. Q: What shall I do if I can’t open the online application website?

A:

*It might be caused by the browser. IE browser is strongly recommended for online application.

*Please use Firefox or Internet Explorer (11.0).

*For applicants using Internet Explorer, please close the “compatible view mode” function ahead of editing.


14. Q: Can I apply for undergraduate program directly through USST?

A:

Unfortunately, you cannot. 

*For independent enrollment Program(CSC-B), our university accepts the application for Master and Doctorate programs only. 

*If you want to apply for undergraduate progams, you should contact Chinese Embassies and Consulates Overseas and other authorized dispatch agents to apply. 


15. Q: Can I apply to more than two universities at the same time through CSC-B?

A:

*Each applicant is limited to submitting only one Type B application per academic year. 

*Applicants are required to designate one university as their Type B application if they have more than one university of interest. 

*The Type B application that is submitted will be considered as the applicant's final selection of university.


16. Q: When I finish the online application, should I mail all the hard copies to your university? 

A:

Please submit your application online as instructed, and a carbon copy is not necessary.
