I. Changes in Visa Application Forms for Entering China

Effective November 20, 2023, the Visa Application Form for Foreign Students to China is renamed the Confirmation Form for Study in China (abbreviated in English as JW201/202). The validity period of this form is extended to six months from the date of issue.

 

A new form, the Information Form for Foreign Students’ Short-term Visit (abbreviated in English as DQ Form), has been introduced to facilitate the information review and X2 visa application process for short-term foreign students visiting China.

 

Meanwhile, the JW201/202 form will be fully digitized and all related processes will be conducted online. The paper version of the JW201/202 form will no longer be in use. Any paper JW201/202 forms issued on or after November 20, 2023, will be invalid, and Chinese visa authorities abroad will no longer accept them.

 

II. Obtaining (Downloading) Visa Application Forms for Entering China

For applicants who are accepted, the school will apply for the Confirmation Form for Study in China on their behalf. Once the Confirmation Form for Study in China is approved, a download notification will be sent to the email address reserved by the applicant during the application process. Applicants can also check and download the relevant electronic certificates via the Study in China website (www.studyinchina.edu.cn). Relevant institutions can verify the authenticity of these electronic certificates online.

 

Notes:

1. PC operation is recommended;

2. The maximum number of downloads for each license is 10, please do not download frequently;

 

III. Application for the Confirmation Form for Study in China for Re-entry by Current International Students

 

For international students who are resuming their studies after a leave of absence or need to apply for a re-entry visa due to other circumstances, please send an email to huakf@usst.edu.cn. The email should include the following information:

1.     Reason for Applying for the Confirmation Form for Study in China.

2.     Verification of enrollment status (For example, if you left due to suspension of study, you must first complete the re-enrollment procedures. Only after your academic status has changed from leave of absence to currently enrolled can you apply for re-entry.)

 

If a foreign student has been dismissed due to failure to register or not resuming studies beyond the period of suspension, this is considered an abnormal study status. Generally, applications for the Confirmation Form for Study in China will not be processed in such cases. If the student needs to come to China to handle withdrawal procedures, this must be specifically mentioned in the email.

 

3.     Provide the student number, name, passport number, and major.

4.     Provide the name and phone number of the person who sponsor your’ affairs and finances in China (one of your parents or a blood-related sibling studying in China, one of them is sufficient).

5.     Send  scanned passport information page and  electronic photo as an attachment.

Electronic Photo Requirements: color standard ID photo, size not more than 200kb, support *.jpg, *.jpeg, *.png as the suffix of the picture, pixels larger than 295*413.

 

Upon verifying the student's enrollment status, the International Student Office will apply for the Confirmation Form for Study in China on behalf of the student. For instructions on how to download the approved Confirmation Form for Study in China, please refer to item 2 above.

 


 Special Notice:

1.     Applications must be submitted via email. Upon approval of the Confirmation Form for Study in China, a notification for download will be sent to the applicant's email address. To ensure smooth delivery, the university does not accept other forms of applications.

2.     Generally, applications for the Confirmation Form for Study in China will not be processed for students who are not in an enrolled status.

3.     Incomplete application materials will not be processed for the Confirmation Form for Study in China.

4.     After receiving the application for the Confirmation Form for Study in China, it may take 3-17 days for approval. Therefore, students are advised to apply well in advance to ensure timely registration upon arrival at the university.

5.     If there is no feedback or Confirmation Form for Study in China sent to the applicant’s email box, please contact International Student Office by sending email both to huakf@usst.edu.cn and fso@usst.edu.cn to inquire about the status.
